JOIN THE CLVB

VVITCHCLVB is a musical effort that seeks to blend influence from genres such as Metal and Prog with others like Jazz, Math Rock, and even a strong influence from Film. The project has worked in music that serves to be vocally driven as well as fully instrumental and even branches out of the band format into solo piano compositions in more classical styles and other things alike. One of the distinct qualities of the bands sonic footprint is the use of soundscapes and sound design to further the atmosphere around the music with strong influences from more ambient and noise artists.

The band began their career with a body of work that had sought to tackle and share a wide array of perspectives on a heavy topic, with that topic being the care and treatment of mental health. Though the band wrote mostly instrumental songs, they used a framework designed by a story that Michael Lafko had been sorting out and working on for years. Using this story as an outline for their song writing. They took each song they wanted to write and assigned that song to a specific section of the story and began the process of attempting to sonically convey the emotional weight of that story. This lofty songwriting style proves to show the breadth of which the band had taken in giving purpose and making statements that were important to them in their music, and making this project something much bigger than a collection of notes.
